About Us
Games Apprenticeships is being delivered by Dr Gina Jackson OBE. Having been involved in the development of Apprenticeship and having seen the impact of them with the UK VFX sector she is keen to support games companies to utilise the government supported form of training which has been developed by industry for industry. Whilst as a trustee and then interim CEO of games industry mental health charity Safe in our World, Gina worked closely with community managers to understand their needs and delivery requirements for the very successful community management mental health training programme. Working with the CM community she could see the value training has both on the quality of their work and impact on community and game discoverability and engagement. CMs often don't get access to training and this often has a huge impact on their mental health.
Gina has selected the JGA Group to work with as the Apprenticeship Training provider.
The JGA Group is a well-established and fast-growing apprenticeship, training and career management organisation. They are learner-centred, flexible and inclusive, with excellent success and satisfaction rates, Ofsted “Good” and ESFA approval.
They received the 2021 Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Promoting Opportunity and beat stiff competition to be named West London Business Best Education & Training Provider 2021 and official BAME Apprenticeship Awards Provider of the Year 2020.
Their digital marketing apprentice Lily-Rose Johns was crowned WLBA Apprentice of the Year 2021.
